I knew not mama but does her loved ones. Yet I have learned what a powerhouse she has been their lives and in the lives of many. And so my prayer is that God continually remind ye mum’s beloved, even in this sod, that He is strengthening and establishing you. May He fill you with freshness of hope, of a restart under His continued watchful eyes. May you always live and love in celebrating God’s goodness through it all.

My Aunty Rose. This is how Jose and I would refer to you. The past few days we have been reminded how in your unique way you touched the lives of many with the beautiful things you did. Mathew 25:31-40 “But when the Son of Man[a] comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. 32 All the nations[b] will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left. 34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ 37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,[c] you were doing it to me!’ Thank you My Aunty Rose, for the love that you shared. Many can say you cared for them, we are reminded how God's word says we are fearfully and wonderfully made. May we all, your children, family and friends carry on and learn from all the things you did right. May we seek forgiveness for ourselves for the times we fall short. May we reflect the love of God in all that we do. May we acknowledge God as King in our lives. May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding be upon us all . Shalom.

I still can’t believe that you are gone but I thank our Almighty Father for giving us such a precious soul like yours. I remember like it was yesterday when we would enjoy seeing you dance to your favorite Lingala music as you welcomed us with a variety of food and drinks. Aunty Rose was so generous honestly speaking. It breaks my heart that you are no more but your sweet memories will remain with us forever and I know you are in a better place no more pain and sorrow. Continue to rest with the angels till we meet again.

I feel so privileged to have known and and adored this great lady. Such a big heart. She will be sorely missed by all, but her legacy of 6 beautiful children remain.

We had a wonderful aunt, One who never really grew old; Her smile was made of sunshine, And her heart was solid gold; Her eyes were as bright as shining stars, And in her cheeks, fair roses, you see. We had a wonderful aunt, And that’s the way it will always be. But take heed, because She’s still keeping an eye on all of us, So let’s make sure She will like what she sees.

It is hard to imagine that you have exited this world. I loved you from the day I met you.....that was so easy to do because of the kind of person you were. I was ecstatic when you lived with us in Eastleigh....I looked forward to every meal you would prepare....I learned from you how rabuon and dengu go so well together. When you and Uncle Ephraim moved to a place near St Teresa's Girl's School, I had to convince my dad that I needed to move there with you guys because it was so near my school, Pangani Girl's and that i would study better because I would be close to school and also uncle Ephraim was a teacher....I needed an excuse to be with them and it worked. I will always remember the movies we went to watch almost every weekend, the impromptu 'lunch date' with one Florence.....the love, the laughter....oh mama Jack, indeed it is not what you take when you leave this world behind you, rather it is what you leave behind you when you go!! And you left me with tons of great memories of you to hold on to. Forever in my heart, rest well mama Jack.

Mariapia Otiso16th-December-2021 at 10:17AM

We loved you but God loved you more. You will sincerely be missed. Rest well Mama.

I remember her through her contagious smile; that will live on as she also passed it on to her children. Her peaceful and gentle demeanor was magnetic. It was followed by her soft voice. Strong and resilient she was. Overcoming all odds to raise her children after the demise of her husband! May you children, grandchildren and the larger family find peace and rest! May her legacy live on for the generations to come! She made peace with her maker. She can now rest in peace, in His presence!

Masala Sefu15th-December-2021 at 06:54PM

I will forever remember Auntie Rose for many things; her style, her sass, her ability to one-liner you with such insane wisdom yet make it so funny! But I'll always remember Auntie Rose for her food (that ALWAYSSSS slapped!) Yaani from the days we'd go to visit Corrine at Kenya High to the time I stayed at Gardo during uni. I remember feeling excited to go home after a full day of class (and probably having eaten just a dry hotdog and soda) knowing I'd be eating something yummy. She could take ANYTHING and make it taste like a 5 star meal. Kachumbari with mangoes? My mind was blown as a kid when I first tasted it at Corrine's visiting day. And her eggs! An EGG guys! I've never tasted eggs so yummy. It was always so simple yet delicious. (I think it runs in the family cos even Dani and mum have this quality) Julia Child once said "People who like food are the best people" and she definitely fits in that category. To Jack, Rina, Rowie, Corrine, Frida and Justo, my heart is always with you during this really difficult time and even for the days to come. Each of you have her fire burning in you in your own special way. You continually inspire us with your strength, kindness, wisdom, style, wit and general silliness 🤭 I'm always so grateful to have you as our cousins and I'm sure Aunty Rose is super proud watching down on all of you. Take care and will be praying for peace and healing for your hearts. Sending LOTS and LOTS of love and hugs!!! 💛💛💛💛💛 Masala.

What I remember most about Mama Rowena is her beautiful smile. No matter what was going on around her, she radiated light and beauty in every interaction, a trait she has left in her daughters. As you lay her to rest, take courage in the life she lived, the joy she gave and how deeply she loved. May the Lord rest her dear soul in peace.

I express condolences on behalf of the Retired Kenya Ambassadors Spouses Group (REKAS). Some of us did not personally know the late Rose Towett, but we feel the loss through Mary Sefu who is the Chairperson of our Group. We mourn with Mary and the family. We are deeply sorry about this great loss to Mary and the family. We ask the Lord to rest Rose's soul in eternal peace. We also ask Him to grant enough strength and grace to all the family members and friends to accept and endure Rose's absence from this world - knowing that, without a doubt, God gives; God has taken. R.I.P., dear Rose.

To my dearest cousins Jack Rina Rowie Corrine Justo Frida, the entire Towett, Adwar and Arara family, my deepest condolences to you on the passing of your beloved mum, my aunty Rose, sister, in law ….. May aunty Rose rest in peace now with the Angels and with your late dad uncle Ephraim. May the angels embrace her in heaven in Jesus name. 🙏Amen I will always think of aunty Rose as courageous, resilient, very forward in how she made plans back then whether in her investment choices, career progress or in family life (you my dear cousins were the only relas in our generation who went to the tsavos and Mara on hols.. … 5* manenos…yes she and my late Uncle did that too and you were looking every bit like you had been shopping with HM the queen…it’s a long time ago, memories though are forever. My aunty Rose was so very chic others may say ‘a la mode’ or posh and stylish, beautiful, loving and loved and importantly God fearing. I also remember she used to crack some seriously funny jokes (some of her children have this funny bone munajijua), she loved her pets and well could be quite firm in her opinion too if you crossed the line! Heh! You are and always will be loved my darling aunty Rose. You did your best in this race of life aunty,so rest in peace. 🙏 To my cousins, as you remember mum Rose In the happy times and tough times too, know that your being here means your beloved ones live on in the legacy you create. We are thinking of you all in this difficult time and praying for you, we shall be together even from afar. And I thank you dear cousins family and friends for enabling a final and befitting farewell for our beloved and beautiful Rose Anyango Arara Towett, rest with the angels 🙏 Anne Patrick Abudi Agnes and Mareba (in London, UK)
